Rich DeSimone

Creative Director

Nickname:

Dickie D.

What exactly do you “do” at EGC?

I make stuff. Digital stuff, integrated campaign stuff, big ideas, small ideas, and the traditional stuff, too. I manage the day-to-day here at the agency and work closely with the teams to help develop ideas for our clients. We do great stuff and it’s fun to be a part of it.

What is your proudest career moment?

Working on CreateAthon.  We do it every year at EGC.  It's where we donate our services to a number of charities in one, whirlwind 24-hour period.  I think we’ve created some outstanding work for some deserving people.

How do you delight clients every day?

I like to look at the marketing problem and solve it in a way they didn’t see coming. Not just to be different, but to be fresh. The unexpected is what gets noticed, and makes the client smile…usually.

What inspires you?

Experiences. Going to the beach, to the city, to concerts. I think getting out and doing different things leads to different thinking. You've got to get out of the office in order to get out of the box.

Any partners, spouses or pets you want to mention?

My wife Gina and my two little girls, Mia and Olivia.

What is the most surprising fact about you?

I love street art. Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Brainwash.

Are you a good cook?

I’m a griller, and I think I’m a pretty good griller. I don’t overcook anything. I make some pretty mean sliders with the works.

What do you do for fun?

Beach with the family, golf, snowboarding, deep-sea fishing, yard work. Especially yard work. I've got a thing for big, gas-powered tools.
