    Graham C. Byers

    Director, Strategic Planning

Before Joining EGC, where did you work?

I’ve been at large global agencies in New York for over 15 years, most recently at Grey where I led strategic and advertising campaign development for LongHorn Steakhouse.  Earlier on, I was at Saatchi & Saatchi as well as FCB.

What exactly do you "do" at EGC?

I build and grow our clients’ brands.  I get to know their customers, business goals and products.  I get a handle on their competition and categories.  Then I put those pieces together in a simple directive for our team, and work to ensure that our ideas deliver on the strategy.

    Sum up your marketing philosophy.

Strategies are the seeds of growth.  Every brand should have a strong strategic foundation, clear understanding of their target, and a vision for the future.  These are what enable any marketing activity to be effective, and to further the long-term goals of the business.

    Giants or Jets?

Do we have to pick sides?  I like to root for home team so you’ll find me cheering for both of them on Sunday afternoons.  However, if they lined up against one another, you’d find me pulling for Big Blue.

Any partners, spouses or pets you want to mention?

You bet.  My wife Christina, daughter Eva, and son Charlie are the best.  My dog, Chewbacca Bacon Byers, is also pretty great.  But that’s a long name, so we just call him Chewy.

Are you a good cook? More important, does anyone else think you're a good cook?

Occasionally my daughter makes me feel like a rock star in the kitchen.  Mostly because I manage to cook food that she finds more tasty than what they serve in the elementary school cafeteria.  I’m not sure that’s a very high bar, but I’ll take it.

    Most surprising fact about you?

I love slippers when it’s cold out.  I put them on the moment I get home.  AND, I love bare feet when it’s warm.  In the summer I only wear socks if I have to.
