SITUATION:

Oyster Festival, an annual event in Oyster Bay, NY, had seen attendance decline for several years. To stave off the loss of key partners that would cause the event to close, EGC needed to attract new visitors and make the event a "must do" on Long Island.

ACTION:

Through advertising, EGC repositioned the Oyster Festival as a family-friendly weekend. EGC also worked diligently behind the scenes to move the event to a more spacious waterfront location and added family-focused elements, including arts and crafts, pirate treasure hunts, amusement rides, live entertainment, and most importantly – food!

THE FINISH LINE:

The measure of success for any festival is the number of attendees. Now ranked as “Long Island’s Largest Festival”, EGC has grown the Oyster Festival annually by more than 11% over the past decade. Each year, well over 200,000 patrons cross the finish line, making Oyster Festival one of most significant fundraising events on Long Island.
